The Witch:

My photo
Aspiring novelist from age eleven, I specialize in Fantasy and Fiction writing. Since childhood I have searched for my very own storybook adventures. A young writer, my perserverance and imagination serve as my greatest assests. Like most literary artists I let Muse guide me, and take me on many marvolous journeys. I have been a part-time practitioner going on eleven years now, stumbling around looking for the light. I am an avid reader and confident witch who wishes only to share her knowledge with the few and the brave who wish to receive it. Please feel free to contact me, even if it's just to say hi!

 Norse Magic by D.J. Conway

A handy-dandy totealong book if there ever was one, this compact information guide to the Norse tradition has a comprehensive overview of one of the oldest faiths around. More of a synopsis, than a how-too book, Norse Magic waisted no time in jumping right into the magic, giving you everything from tools to rituals for the whole wheel. This is a great book for your comprehensive eclectic library and has great information, including summaries of myth and of the gods. if you don't have this book yet check out Llewellyn's World Magic Series and get yourself a copy. (Warning: I do say, as a summery, do not use this as your go to one all end all book on Norse.)

The Witches' Craft by Raven Grimassi

One of my first additions to my personal witches library, The Witches' Craft is an incredible source of information for the aspiring seeker, the wise practitioner and even the confused parent who's just trying to understand what their kid means when they say "I'm a witch."

With in-depth explanation of the 'Old Path' Raven paves the way for educated understanding of pagan beliefs. From the history of witchcraft to how the old ways are still imprinted and honored today in modern witchcraft, I found this book to be incredibly informative and it is something I return to time and time again whenever I need it. The Witches' Craft brings a old world remembrance to the new techno enhanced age of the pagan community. For me, as one of my first looks into the craft, it helped to plant deep roots that hold me true to my craft.

Complete with chapters to teach about essential witch tools, personal power, meditation, a chapter on the 'well-worn path' as well as other magical arts; Raven Grimassi brings a beautifully written magical manuscript to be treasured by all.

Passage from the book:

"There is an interesting connection between the English words "truth" and "tree." Both words are derived from the Old English word treow, which means loyalty or fidelity. The word treow itself is derived from the Indo European deru, which was applied to things that would endure or were trustworthy.
Remember, and Return to Your Roots
The Witches still dance around the ancient tree, and the entrance there into the enchanted world is still guarded by the mysteries that the mind cannot unlock, but which open freely to the heart and spirit. It is my hope that the following pages will take you successfully through the labyrinth of Witchcraft's history, and deliver up the secrets of the Witches' Craft, which lie deep within the center of the maze. It is a treasure worthy of pursuit-but know that the mysteries protect themselves until you are ready to receive them.
-Raven Grimassi"

The Witches' Craft was published by Llewellyn Worldwide and can be purchased online or at a local bookstore.

"Ancient and powerful, the traditions of the Witches' Craft must never be forgotten. Honor the memory of those who have gone before you, and take your own magical practices further than you ever imagined when you return to the old ways of Witchcraft."

Blessed Be!
